First Aid Course

Today we had Kate come to Toroa class. She is an educator with the Red Cross. She came to teach us first aid techniques from the People Savers course. The students were excellent listeners and now have some great skills for first aid. One acronym they learnt was DRABC. This means:

  • Dangers
  • Response
  • Send for help
  • Airways
  • Breathing
  • Circulation
Also they learnt how to deal with bleeding, shock and choking.
